Welcome to 2020

Welcome to 2020

Summing up the biggest trends on our radar this year, we’ve cut through the noise…here’s what you’ll be drinking in 2020!

No and Low- This year the popularity of low and non-alcoholic drinks will continue well after #DryJanuary as holistic wellness and mindful drinking take centre stage as one of the biggest trends for the year. With this marked change in attitude towards drinking, individuals will be on the lookout for flavour and experience over ABV. New brands of no and low alcohol drinks will continue popping up everywhere as innovation continues. It’s an exciting time for the sober curious as many of the bars in London have begun serving interesting non-alcoholic cocktails.

Sustainability- continues to be a big trend as consumers become more selective of the ways that they experience brands. This year we will continue to see drink brands discover new ways to sustainably source ingredients and innovate more environmentally friendly packaging.

Hard Seltzers- Expect to see more of these arriving in the UK this year (originally from the US where they are a huge trend) in addition to other “hard beverages” such as hard ice tea and hard kombucha. Come summer, we expect to see more Hard Seltzer brands and lower sugar alcoholic rtd’s.

Premium and spiced rums- Gin drinkers are (finally) set to start exploring the world of rum especially in cocktails, like the Daiquiri and Dark & Stormy, alongside spiced rum, looking for more complex and tropical flavour profiles. Premium rum will see a spike as consumers upgrade their rum choice, with more perceived value and quality.

In other news our first event of the year was a full-house La Maison Wellness mindful drinking masterclass hosted by Camille Vidal. During the masterclass we gained more insight into mindful drinking and got to shake up our own delicious non-alcoholic cocktail, packed with Vitamin C and D. La Maison Wellness has loads of events coming up throughout January and beyond, meaning making better choices about drinking ‘rethink your drink’ can be continued throughout the year, check out the website for full details.

Cheers,

Team Domino

Over & Out for 2019

Over & Out for 2019

Before we set our out of offices here’s a little re-cap of the past year... it’s been a corker!

August saw us launch BrewDog Distilling Co.’s portfolio of awesome, handmade spirits: LoneWolf gin, LoneWolf Cloudy Lemon gin, Rogue Wave vodka, Five Hundred Cuts rum, LoneWolf Gunpowder gin and Zealot’s Heart gin. Phew, there’s more to come too, the gift that keeps giving!

Corte Vetusto joined the Domino fold; a trio of exceptional, multi-award-winning mesquite smoked mezcals from Oaxaca. Firmly established on the back bar of the world’s finest bars and restaurants, it’s an utterly delicious liquid, leading the way of super-premium agave spirits.

Plantation Rum was the official RUM FUNK of the summer, serving up delicious Daiquiris at Jerk & Beyond Festival and Notting Hill Carnival. In addition to creating the world’s most authentic Mai Tai at Trader Vic’s for Mai Tai Day, the closest you could get to the original (for the geeks out there)

‘Vodka how it used to taste’ Kavka, continued to gain new fans including GQ, serving up icy Martinis for their annual Christmas lunch at Treehouse hotels.

Cocchi vermouth came out with ALL the winter treats this year with an ingenious ‘Negroni in a Box’ and insanely moreish vermouth-laced Panettone. Those Italians do the festive season in style..

To round off the year, we welcome two new clients to the Domino roster; the queen of Healthy Hedonism herself, Camille Vidal of La Maison Wellness and The Four Sisters Bar in Islington; whose brand new cocktail menu of straight talking mixed drinks will be turning heads in 2020

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, and looking forward to an exciting new chapter in January!

Cheers,

Team Domino x

Remember Remember the 5th...

Remember Remember the 5th...

Winter’s kicked off with a bang with the new LoneWolf Gunpowder Gin from BrewDog Distilling Co. hitting the UK on the 5th November - #LightTheFuse with a Gunpowder Martinez!

Introducing Corte Vetusto Mezcal, a trio of exceptional, multi-award-winning mesquite smoked mezcals from Oaxaca Mexico; Espadín, Tobalá and limited edition Ensamble II. A staple on the back-bar of The American Bar at The Savoy and Nobu London these are the perfect winter sippers to enjoy neat and ‘kissed’ slowly to reveal the incredible spectrum of flavours.

Christmas came early with the launch of Five Hundred Cuts Botanical Rum, from BrewDog Distilling Co. at the Chelsea Physic Garden in October. Inspired by the ‘original spice girl’, Elizabeth Blackwell, an 18th century illustrator of medicinal plants, and bringing a whole new experience of rum; botanical, dark and unmistakably funky. Described as ‘Christmas cake in a glass’ - arriving just in time for the party season!
